Sports Injuries & Rehabilitation

About Sports Injuries & Rehabilitation

I’ve been worked in elite sport for over 20 years a Manchester United Liverpool football club sale sharks. I’m very familiar with the many different sports injuries that affect elite athletes but in private practice also those who are training hard.

I would apply the same principles to a Sports injury in private practice as I would at an elite level premiership footballer. Looking with simple orthopaedic testing bio mechanical analysis postural analysis you can see the driver for the injury and the reason why the injury occurred.

This can be for many reasons whether it be a problem in their pelvis or back or neck perhaps their feet but these balances in the body can often lead to muscle imbalances and a propensity for injury.

Also breaking down and optimising simple movement patterns that are used in sport means that I can teach my patient the most efficient and economical way to move. Has anyone in the elite sport Will tell you optimising movement patterns and improving economy of effort are too important ways reduce the likelihood of injury.

When you work in sport you realise that everybody is different or athletes and individuals have their own restrictions abilities but is important to work with the athlete to maximise their ability to perform and decrease the risk of injury.
